Jessica Cless

Dr. Jessica Cless is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapy Associate (LMFT-A) in the state of Rhode Island, and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of Connecticut. Dr. Cless has a passion for connecting with people through empathetic listening and helping them to hone their strengths and craft the best possible future for themselves and their families. She specializes in working with complex traumatic stress, particularly with women and children. Dr. Cless is also passionate about helping those who may be navigating family conflict, stressful life transitions, anxiety, and depression.

She has more than 10 years of experience working with individuals, couples, and families in a variety of settings, including at a military installation, at university-based clinics, serving as a guest clinician for couples retreats, and as the behavioral health director for a community-based nonprofit health care agency. Dr. Cless received a Bachelor of Science in Family Studies and Human Services with an emphasis on Conflict Analysis and Trauma Studies and a certificate in Conflict Resolution. She holds a Master of Science and a Doctor of Philosophy in Couple and Family Therapy, all from Kansas State University. A Kansas native, she is now living and working in Rhode Island as an Assistant Professor of Couple and Family Therapy at the University of Rhode Island.

Dr. Cless values collaborative therapeutic work in which the client is empowered to share about their struggles in a trusted space. Working together, she strives to help clients develop meaningful insights and solutions that lead to a high quality of life.
